#DoTheDash

About the Dash!

The Dash! in previous years the dash provided an inspirational athletics event for our primary school children within a unique County Durham setting, and at the same time promotes sport and physical activity as a positive lifestyle choice for children and their families.

With over 800 children and 56 primary schools engaged in the dash last year we did not want to let you down this year.  We have been putting our thinking caps on and have decided to run the dash within your own setting, should this be a school or within your home we have decided to open it up to all.

There will be 3 competition formats

  • School - School from our SSP
  • Home - Anyone anywhere
  • Parents/Teachers - Any parent and teacher

School & Home

  • Speed Bounce – 20 seconds
  • Target (bucket) Throw – 2 meters away as many socks (items) in target in 20 seconds
  • 400m run

Parents/Teachers

  • How fast can you run one mile? (see below for guidance)

We have put a set of guidance notes together and some visual videos to show you how to setup the events.  We will be running the Speed Bounce, Target Throw and 400m Run events during the week we had originally planned to host the Dash, week commencing the 8th June starting with the Speed Bounce.  Please see timetable below.

Please help us by spreading the word and engaging as many people as possible.  Share this page via your social media, tell your friends and get as many people involved as we can.

You can submit your results anytime from the 8th June until 26th June

Now all you have to do is read our guidanceselect if you are at home or school and submit your results.

Teachers and Parents Challenge
