County Durham SGO’s organised a Virtual School Games Event which took place Friday 3rd July 2020, the event was very popular among the children and adults from across County Durham.
The mission of the County Durham Virtual School Games was to give the unique opportunity for every young person to take part in the National School Games programme. The Virtual Games aimed to engage, motivate and inspire young people to be physically active and promote wellbeing.
The Virtual Games consisted of 5 physical/skill based challenges which require little or no equipment:
- Keepy Ups
- Target Practice
- Throw and Catch
- Gymnastic One Foot Balance
- Star Jumps
The Virtual Games also involved a Photography Challenge linked to the SIX School Games Values below which was also a great success:
There was an inter-school competition, with participants earning points for their school by simply taking part in the challenge (each challenge attempt earned their school 1 point!)
Check to see how your school/area performed and see if you managed to make it into the top 3
The County Durham School Games Organisers want to wish everyone a massive thank you for participating, we hope you enjoyed the challenges and most of all had fun.
